Gatorade Nails It Again With "The Road"

Check out the latest commercial from Gatorade. It's called "The Road" and makes people who couldn't care less about soccer feel a sense of great pride for America's efforts in the upcoming World Cup. The camera angles are awesome and really puts you inside being on the team. It's smart that Gatorade is running this commercial now because if the team doesn't perform up to expectations -- they are ranked No. 4, their highest ranking ever -- they'll have to pull this thing.

New Gatorade Spokesman: David Blaine

David_blaine33I just went to Lincoln Center in New York City to see magician David Blaine in his bubble of water for his latest stunt entitled "Drowned Alive." Blaine has been in the water submerged for the past week. On Monday night, Blaine will be pulled from the water, he will be handcuffed and he will be put back in the water to try to break the record for the longest a person has ever held his breath under water (9 minutes) live on ABC. For the past week, Blaine has been receiving only water, nutrients and Gatorade through a feeding tube.

Happy Year Anniversary!

Happy_birthday1It was a year ago that I started this blog and I want to thank all my readers for the experience. When I started it, I thought that I would be doing this by myself. But we're now getting about 4,000 hits a day, which is pretty cool for a single brand site. A thank you also goes to every publication that touted this site, including the New York Times, which gave this site its first big break last October.

Pepsi settles with Glaceau over Vitaminwater copycat

Sorry for the long hiatus. I've had a lot of ESPN work to do. But it's time to get back to business since a lot of things have happened. The biggest news of course is that late last week PepsiCo decided to settle in the Vitaminwater label infringement case and has agreed to change the packaging of its Sobe Lifewater brand, which was clearly meant to confuse customers. The settlement came a month after Glaceau, which makes Vitaminwater, sued PepsiCo.
