I'm sure Gatorade officials don't want to see Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu hoisting any MVP trophies come Sunday night. Why? Because he is likely Gatorade's most high-profile critic right now. Check out what Polamalu told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette before the season: "I think (Gatorade is) a whole money plot, you know what I mean? I don't understand how all that sugar can really help you. I think water is the best, definitely, and I think some water is better than others." Polamalu should thank his lucky stars that Cadillac, not Gatorade, sponsors the MVP award. Polamalu -- a two-time Pro Bowler in as many years -- is injured, but is expected to play in Super Bowl XL.
He defintely has a unique outlook. I saw that before the season too.
