"Winning Formula" Reactions

About 10 percent of the people reading this site right now have found me by wanting to find out more about the "Winning Formula" (Jordan-Jeter-Clark) commercial, so that's why we're talking about it so much. It's getting so much play that last week, the Washington Post had a question about it in its sports trivia quiz ("In an egregious act we'll refer to as 'sports memory homicide,' Gatorade doctored three famous plays in professional sports history for a commercial on Sunday's broadcast. Which play was NOT one of them? Answer: Luis Gonzalez's 2001 World Series winning hit). Here's one of the best lines I've seen so far courtesy of Peter Schrager from FoxSports.com: "Very cool, Gatorade. But, where's the Buckner scoop and jog to first?" It's funny. I was looking back at a 2001 Basketball Digest interview with Craig Ehlo. Check out what he said: "I'm upset at Michael Jordan. Not because he always seemed to make the big shots to beat us, but because the game-winning basket he made against us in the 1989 playoffs has been in Gatorade commercials. You can see me trying to stop him in the commercial, but I'm not getting any royalties and I know he is." Well Craig, are you at least happy now that the  brand has revised what has happened?

Well I was the African American male in that commercial that was on the stationary bike with the oxygen mask. I had no idea that this commercial was going to be this succesful. I was just proud that was a part of this process. I wish that they didn't have that oxygen mask on my face though.

I was "Jorge Posada" in this commercial. Like the gentleman above, it was a one-time payout (i.e.: no residuals per airing...grrr!). Still, it was a fun but arduous experience. The camera was linked to a computer so as to mimic the movement of the original footage. I, along with the umpire, were required to time our choreographed movements to both Jeter and the camera. Needless to say, it required numerous takes...catch, spin, dive to tag...whew! but we got it. Incidently, the "Dwight Clark" double is also the player beneath the Burger King costume in those football ads!

Is there anywhere online that i can view the commercial?

Im the one who misses the shot can Iget residuals out the deal or is gatorade that cheap.I did a 7up last year and i wasnt even shown and they paid me residuals whats up with that. Gatorade is starting to get a rep for not paying there talent thats really not a good way to run a business exploiting your talent
