Did you actually like Midnight Thunder (black Gatorade) or Gatorgum? I'm looking for people to share their memories or love of their favorite Gatorade product. Please tell me about your favorite flavor and send me a picture of you drinking it and I will post for the world to see. I can be reached by at TheGatoradeGuy@aol.com.
My favorite gatorade product was the lemon-lime flavored gatorade gum. It basically tasted like the powder concentrate, but in gum form. When I was nine years old I almost got a concussion over a pack of gatorgum participating in a ridiculous competition at soccer camp. That summer they gave out gatorgum to the campers like a trainer gives fish to a seal. The competition was a heading contest, basically our coach kicked the soccer ball high in the air and whoever headed the ball moved onto the next round. And each round the ball was kicked higher into the air. Well I was either really brave or really stupid, because an hour later the competition was down to me and another kid. It was my turn, the coach kicked the ball at least 50 feet in the air, I mean it was a dot in the sky, straight up. SO i got under it and basically waited for it to drop on my head. Well i was knocked out cold for a couple minutes. But needless to say i won a free pack of gatorgum.

Julian,
Thanks for sharing. I have talked on a bunch of college campuses and can't believe how many people say they loved Gatorgum. The discontinued it in the about 15 years ago because it wasn't efficacious and they had a hard time making it. As you know, a pack lasted for about five seconds, which didn't reflect too well on the Gatorade brand. Then again, neither did the recent energy bar effort.

I loved Gatorade gum, but I've been around long enough to remember carbonated Gatorade in cans. That was a great drink and I wish it was still around. Nothing against the powder I use almost all the time now, but a cooler full of carbonated Gatorade for the club soda lover in me -- yes!

I actually saw Raisin flavored Gatorade in one of the "dollar stores" in Pittsburgh about 3 years ago. Can't imagine that it tasted very good....or that they sold much of it.

When I was a little girl my dad had a big bag of gator gum. I must have been really little because it was in the house we moved out of the summer I turned 5. With that bag of gator gum he taught my big sister how to blow bubbles and taught me how to chew gum and not swallow it.
I still remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in our old kitchen going through piece after piece because it wasn't very good gum--it got tough really quickly. Also, my very sentimental father saved one of the wrapers and pasted it in my baby book. I would give anything to taste gatorgum again.

I LOVED lemon-lime gatrogum! For some weird reason it popped into my head today and I went on a mad hunt to find it but alas, there's a reason I haven't seen it in years, they discontinued it :-(
It's true, it didn't keep it's flavor very long but it was sooo good, with a super intense burst of flavor when you first bit into it. Mmmmm, I can almost taste it. I wonder crack was in it or something, how come 15 years later I'm still drooling over it? We should ptition them to bring it back!

I remember buying Gator gum when I was in college. It was in 1987-1989 when I would buy the orange flavoured and lime flavoured gum. There were five big sticks and I think it was wrapped in a silver foil. It was very juicy at first then got hard very quickly. I just googled it today after trying Dentyne ice gum. I got a craving for it, so I googled it and was disappointed to read that it was no longer available.

I used to LOVE the gatorade gum. I still remember the bright green package. The gum was SO SOUR. It reminds me of my childhood and going to the water park during the summer.

stopped in because of reference to carbonated gatorade, i used to play racquet ball many years ago and would always get a can of it after wards, loved it, i then went to the store and bought a case of gatorade a few years later anit was not the carbonated kind , took it back and told them it was flat, they told me there had never been a carbonated gatorade, i thought i had lost my mind.

Lemon flavored Quench Gum sold at Sporting good stores, tastes almost the same as Gator Gum. Search on eBay for Quench Gum and you will see it.

I just bought a house on a lake this fall, and when spring rolled around this year after the snowmelt, I saw an old tin can half-buried in the mud in about 6 inches of water.
It was a green tin can of "SPARKLING!" carbonated Gatorade, bottled in St. Paul, MN -- by Coca-Cola.
I couldn't believe it, never heard of carbonated Gatorade before.

Who is really the REAL manufacturer of the Japanese b2up bust up gum?
Newspapers in Hong Kong has mentioned Nozawa Seisakusho (K&S) as the
creator of this.

I got some gatorade the other day and just asked my husband if he remembered the gum. He said no and he is older then me and I ask if he was under a rock. I use to love that gum and have tought about it often.. I am the type that likes to chew the same gum all day and the taste is gone but still good. Gator gum was still good . The gum no just keeps having a nasty after taste. I don't chew much anymore because of that .. Oh I wish they would bring it back . If for nothing else but to see what the kids now would say about it. I think it would be a hit. Remember when you first put it in your mouth it would almost lock your jaws. I really think that was the first sour gum . haha
Bring it back in the same way it was.. Nancy age 45

I used to go on mountain bike to have weekend trips, They were 80km rides, which were so cool. I remember that I used to drink Powerade instead of Gatorade.
