Daily glasses of wine and pieces of chocolate have been credited by many as extending their long lives. Now, Gatorade is getting its due thanks Anna Koenig, a woman from Seattle, Washington, who turned 102 last week. Koenig says her secret is drinking two cups of original lemon-lime Gatorade every day. Of course, she couldn't have been doing this all her life. Since Gatorade hit the market in 1967, if she was a very early adopter, she would have been 62 when she started. To celebrate her birthday last week, Gatorade officials sent her 102 bottles. The gift paid off. The story was covered by media outlets from Seattle to Boston.
UPDATE: I just read a story in the Seattle Times about Koenig. Seems like she only started drinking Gatorade a couple years ago after having a problem with dehydration. Not quite the story it was made out to be on the local news shows.
